What is it?
Dry eye is one of the most common reasons people visit an eye doctor. It happens when your tears do not lubricate the eye well — either because you do not produce enough tears, or because the tears evaporate too quickly. Most dry eye is treatable once we understand which mechanism is at play.
Symptoms to watch for
- Burning, stinging, or scratchy eyes
- Sensitivity to light
- Eye fatigue, especially after screens
- Watery eyes (yes, paradoxically)
- Blurred vision that improves with blinking
How we treat it at Hussain Eye Care
After a tear-film assessment, we tailor treatment: artificial tears for evaporative cases, lid hygiene and warm compresses for meibomian gland disease, and prescription anti-inflammatory drops for inflammatory dry eye. Lifestyle changes (screen breaks, hydration) make a real difference.
If symptoms persist beyond two weeks despite over-the-counter drops, get a clinical assessment.
