What is it?
Eye infections range from mild conjunctivitis to sight-threatening corneal ulcers. The right antibiotic and the right urgency depend on the cause — bacterial, viral, allergic, or contact-lens related. If an eye is red and painful, sensitive to light, or vision is dropping, do not wait — get it seen the same day.
Symptoms to watch for
- Redness, pain, or grittiness
- Discharge or crusting
- Sensitivity to light
- Blurred or reduced vision
- Eyelid swelling
How we treat it at Hussain Eye Care
We examine with a slit lamp, take a swab if indicated, and prescribe targeted treatment. Contact-lens-related infections are treated as urgent. Severe cases are admitted or referred for intensive therapy. WhatsApp us with photos if you cannot come in immediately.
Same day for any painful red eye, light sensitivity, vision drop, or contact-lens wearer with redness. Do not self-medicate with steroid drops — they can make some infections dramatically worse.
